This bright yellow-orange fruit is called eggfruit due to its 

dense, dry flesh closely resembles a cooked egg yolk. 

Fully ripe fruit has a sweet, rich, and custardy texture. Many people describe the taste as a mix of sweet potato pie, vanilla frosting, or caramel.

Eggfruit may need time to ripen after delivery. Ripen at room temperature of 70 degrees or above. Once its soft all over, cut in half or pull apart and enjoy!
