Experience one of Florida’s most treasured tropical fruits. The Key West Mamey Sapote is celebrated for its incredibly smooth, creamy texture and rich, naturally sweet flavor. Every bite delivers a comforting blend of pumpkin pie, baked sweet potato, silky vanilla custard, and toasted almond, creating a dessert-like taste unlike any other fruit.
Its vibrant salmon-orange flesh is buttery, fiber-free, and packed with tropical goodness, making it perfect for enjoying fresh, blending into smoothies, creating milkshakes, baking, or adding to desserts.
Tip:
- Lightly scratch the brown skin with your fingernail. If the flesh underneath is salmon, orange, or reddish-orange, it’s mature and will ripen well. If it’s green, it needs more time.
- Mamey will need to ripen at room temperature of around 70°F or more after delivery.
- The fruit will be soft all over. Once soft, cut in half and scoop out seed(s). You can eat Mamey with a spoon straight out the fruit or freeze to make milkshakes or smoothies.
