The Kampong "Mauve" Sugar Apple is a rare purple sugar apple cultivar. First cultivated in the 1990s in Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida, by Larry Schokman and Maurice Kong; it features pale mauve skin and sweet, custard-like flesh.

Its creamy, sweet white pulp has notes of tropical custard, subtle berry, or a hint of cinnamon.

How to eat: Once ripe and soft, the fruit can be easily opened by gently pulling it apart by hand. Enjoy the sweet, creamy flesh, but be sure to discard the skin and seeds, as they are not edible.
